Hey! I'm Kibrett. I'm a Florida native of Jamaican heritage traversing the U.S. until my forever home finds me. I'm currently based in Raleigh, NC.
Back in the day, I studied Media Communication at Cornell University. Not too long after, I received my master's in Integrated Marketing from Florida State University. After graduating, I began a career in product marketing.
I am an experienced marketer and writer with a passion for optimizing the user experience through word and design. I’ve championed pen and paper since my days as Editor-in-Chief of the high school newspaper, but I decided to integrate strategy into my style by entering the world of marketing. I’ve worked cross-functionally to take SaaS products out to market, create and execute strategies to increase brand awareness and equity and increase inbound pipeline growth. I’ve done significant research to understand the market and users to create intentional messaging that meets potential buyers and users at every possible touchpoint within the funnel.
In 2021, I started a branding and marketing agency. I work closely with brands to create unique identities that help them stand out amongst the digital noisy landscape and beat out the competition. From fully developed brand guidelines to strategically designed websites and targeted marketing campaigns, I design brand experiences that resonate with target audiences. Falling in love with these processes is what propelled me toward the world of user design.
I already have a firm understanding of user behaviors, their goals, and their pain points. Integrating these insights into an intuitive, easy-to-use, and enjoyable experience for the user is nothing new for me. I’m just able to do it in a new way. I’m experienced with tools such as Figma. I’ve created wireframes and prototypes with Figma to test and validate my designs. I’ve also studied microcopy—which is something I find not many products prioritize. I love designing messaging that helps users take specific actions and achieve their goals. There should be zero friction experienced by users encountering a brand or product.
Ultimately, I love helping people. (I’m also a life coach!) I am passionate about helping not only businesses thrive, but the individuals behind the businesses, too. I want to create win-win situations for businesses and users. Using design to build trust and empathy is fundamental for any business that wants to win. Understanding that users are not naive is important. They know when businesses are exploiting them. It is the job of empathetic designers, marketers, and writers like me to bridge the gap and create beautiful experiences for all.
